International Day of Persons with Disabilitiesđź’ś
* Oh, you are so amazing.
* You are an inspiration.
* More power to you.
* You people are so lucky to have supportive parents.
* We have got so much to learn from you…The list goes on
These are some of the things that most of the people with disabilities who are navigating with determination in their life and fighting hard to stay in the race, gets to hear.
But is that all? Are we just those good things which the world can see?
No! There is too much beyond. It’s not just the courage/grit/determination or any other positive terms but it is also more about overcoming loneliness, helplessness, guilt our of dependencies, trying to be included and what not!
There are days when I feel incredibly lonely, isolated in a world that moves too fast for someone like me to keep up. What hurts the most is feeling helpless, especially as I watch my father age and fall sick. I belong to be there for him, to support him like he have always supported me, but my limitations make that so much harder. It’s a pain I can’t put into words—a guilt that weighs heavier with each passing day. Every ramp I encounter that’s too steep, every event I can’t attend due to accessibility issues, and every stare that feels like a question reminds me of the gaps in a world designed for others.
Yet, despite the struggles, I choose to stay dedicated—to my dreams, my growth, and my happiness. I’ve learned to celebrate the small victories, like conquering a new challenge or finding unexpected kindness from a stranger. It’s these moments that fuel my spirit.
To everyone who stands with me, who advocates for inclusivity, who asks, ‘How can I help?’—you are the reason I push forward. Your support, your friendship, and your empathy matter more than words can say.
As I reflect on this day, I want to remind us all: “Strength grows in the moments when you think you can’t go on, but you keep going anyway.”
To my fellow warriors with disabilities, know this: We are more than our struggles. We are the dreams we chase, the love we give, and the change we inspiređź’Ş
Let’s continue to raise awareness, break barriers, and build a world where compassion is abundant, everyone belongs, no one feels left behind and have the chance to heal and thrive. Together, we can roll forward to a brighter, more inclusive future. 🌍✨
